How Video Subtitle Remover handles uploaded videos, processing results and technical data.
Last updated: 2026-10-16
What this policy covers
This policy explains how Video Subtitle Remover ("the service") handles information when you use the website and its tools, including the online subtitle and text removal tools and the Windows desktop application. The service is built for a narrow purpose: removing burned-in subtitles, captions and text overlays from videos that you own or are licensed to edit. Because that job involves your personal media files, this policy is deliberately specific about what is uploaded, what is processed, how long anything is kept, and what the desktop application does differently from the online tools.
No account is required to use the service. There is no sign-up form, no user profile and no social layer. If that ever changes, this page will say so before the change takes effect.
Videos you upload to the online tools
When you submit a video to an online removal tool, the file is uploaded to private object storage, processed on a GPU worker, and made available back to you through a signed download link. During that process:
- The file is stored in a private bucket. It is not published, not listed in any gallery, not submitted to search engines, and not shown to other users.
- Processing is performed solely to produce the removal result you requested. Your videos are never used to train machine-learning models, never used for research, and never shared with third parties for their own purposes.
- Uploaded files and processed results are automatically and permanently deleted within 24 hours of job completion, whether the job succeeded or failed. Deletion is performed by an automated lifecycle process; it is final rather than immediate, which is why we say "within 24 hours" instead of promising second-by-second deletion.
- If you cancel a job or close the page before downloading, the same deletion schedule still applies. Abandoned uploads are treated exactly like completed ones.
We do not open, review or moderate your videos. Automated checks inspect technical properties only — duration, resolution, codec and stream layout — to decide whether the file can be processed and which removal route applies (track stripping versus pixel repair). These checks run on the file itself and produce no human-viewable record of your content.
What the Windows application processes
The Windows application runs entirely on your computer. Videos you open in it are processed locally on your hardware and are never uploaded to us or to any third party. The application does not require an account, does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs inside the editor, and operates without an internet connection after first-run setup. Crash reports are anonymous and opt-out: if you prefer, the application will never send us anything at all.
Because local files never leave your machine, this policy's upload and deletion rules do not apply to the desktop application. You control the files, the outputs and their deletion, using your own operating system.
Technical information we process
To operate and protect the service we process a minimal set of technical information:
- Request logs. Timestamps, URL paths, HTTP status codes and error messages, kept for a short operational window to diagnose failures and abuse.
- Abuse-prevention signals. When you submit an online job, a bot-verification check runs, and coarse rate-limit counters (for example, jobs per IP address per day) are consulted to keep the free tier available for everyone. These counters store counts, not identities.
- Essential browser storage. A small amount of browser storage associates an in-progress job with the browser session that created it, so the result page can display your job status. Clearing site storage removes this association.
We do not sell personal information. We do not run cross-site advertising trackers. We do not build behavioral profiles. If we ever add an analytics measurement, it will be aggregate-only, cookieless where feasible, and disclosed on this page first.
Legal basis and your choices
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, our processing of uploaded videos and technical data is based on your consent, given by submitting a file, and on our legitimate interest in operating a safe and available service. You may withdraw that consent at any time by simply not submitting further files; existing files follow the automatic deletion schedule described above, and you may contact us to request earlier deletion of a specific job if it is still within its 24-hour window.
You have the right to access, correct, delete and restrict processing of personal information you have provided, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Because the service collects so little — anonymous job records and short-lived technical logs — these rights usually translate to "let the 24-hour deletion finish" or "ask us to delete a job now." We will respond to verified requests within the statutory time frames.
Third-party processors
The online service uses infrastructure providers to run: object storage for temporary uploads and results, GPU compute for the repair pipeline, and a bot-verification provider at job submission. These providers process data only on our instructions, under contracts that restrict their use of it, and exclusively to deliver the function you requested. The desktop application uses none of them.
We disclose provider categories rather than brand names here because infrastructure choices change; the categories and their purposes do not. Nothing is ever shared for advertising, data brokerage or model training.
Children
The service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly process videos or personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted content, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Security
Uploads travel over encrypted connections and live in private storage with short-lived signed access. Processing workers are isolated per job. Access to operational logs is restricted to the service operators. No system is perfectly secure, but the design goal is simple: there is nothing worth breaching, because within a day there is nothing stored at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the updated date at the top of this page will change with it, and significant changes will be summarized on this page for at least 30 days. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Contact
Questions about this policy or requests regarding your data can be sent through the contact channel announced on the site. Until a public support inbox is opened, repository and site issues are the fastest route to a human response.
